Tonight, my kitchen was covered in bits of deer meat as my hubby and I processed the whitetail deer he harvested this afternoon. It’s his second deer this season, so our freezer is well stocked for the next year! I love the hunting options in this area of Kansas. There are so many farmers wanting to get rid of deer on their land, and Marc can drive just a bit out of town and have a deer spotted, shot, skinned and home for processing in just a couple of hours.
I don’t recommend this style of vacuum sealer, though, as it is a bit tricky to use. When we processed our first deer, we wasted a bunch of expensive vacuum bags trying to get the machine to work properly. This one was a loan from a generous neighbor, but we’ll try a different one if we decide to purchase our own.
