Have you heard my level fields joke? Well, it’s not really my joke, but it cracks me up every time I hear it on the radio.
Here in northwest Kansas, there’s a radio ad — I think from the Attorney General’s Office — that talks about making a level playing field for small businesses in Kansas. At the end of the ad, the spokesperson says “and, in case you haven’t noticed, here in Kansas we know all about level fields.” 🙂
I’m actually smiling as I write this. It’s just that funny to me! (FYI — Most people don’t share my opinion that this is hilarious.)
Maybe it’s because I had just moved here when I first heard that ad on the radio. Maybe it’s because I need to get out more. Maybe I just appreciate someone joking about the flat territory here. I dunno, but it makes me laugh like a little kid.
So, yesterday, when I saw this level field, I just had to take a picture!
This is from an area north of Levant, Kansas, where I believe they might have some of the best examples of “level fields” in the entire country.
My hubby says you can see the curve of the earth from here. Looking at these level fields, I just might believe that!
