Frugal 4th of July

Independence Day can get expensive fast, especially if you decide to have your own home fireworks show! Fortunately, it’s also one of the easiest holidays to celebrate frugally since there are no gift-exchange pressures and a backyard cookout is totally acceptable!

If you live in the Colby, Kansas, area, it’s super easy to have a frugal Fourth!

The Colby Lions Club and Rotary Club are putting on their annual FREE hot dog and watermelon feed at the fairgrounds. The event includes games like a coin toss (with prizes!) and bingo, along with music and a former Miss America signing autographs.

The feed starts at 6 p.m., followed by a free fireworks show at the fairgrounds at 10 p.m.

A whole evening of entertainment to celebrate our nation’s independence…all for FREE!
